DAY 15 - STROLL & SAVOR

It's been a little over a month since we moved to Long Beach, and so far it's been great! I really enjoy the energy and vibe at Belmont Shore. Today was day #2 of Stoll and Savor for the month of July, so we checked it out.

Two days out of the month during summer, restaurants and bars along 2nd Street participate in an event called Stroll and Savor. They sell some of their popular menu items at a discounted price. For $10 you get 12 tickets:

  • Most entries are between 3-5 tickets

  • Combo plates are between 6-9

  • And drinks or desserts vary between 1-3 tickets

This was a great opportunity for us to sample the offerings of restaurants without actually paying for a whole meal. In fact, a ticket is a little under $1, so you're getting a pretty good deal especially if the portion for your item is equivalent to an average serving on a normal day.

They also have live music every other block on both sides of the street, so that added to the ambiance.

Before we headed out to the event, a group of ladies saw me locking our front door. One of the ladies began talking to me.

RANDOM LADY: "How do you like living here?"

ME: "I love it. It's great!"

RANDOM LADY: "Aww so lucky."

Not sure why she said that, but it felt nice to be asked because I really do enjoy living here.

DAY 15 - Experience 2nd Street's Stroll & Savor [COMPLETE]

  • My thoughts?

  • The event was fun, the food was okay. Perhaps it's better when sitting down at the restaurant? ALTHOUGH, I must note: Domenicos has pretty good pasta!

  • Would I do it again?

  • Hmm maybe? If so, I would stick to just desserts.

  • Was it worth the price?

  • Yea. For $10, I think you get about $20 worth of food.

  • What did I learn?

  • When deciding on food, go with your gut feeling and select what you think you'll like.
